Natalie's Baptism

Our Natalie girl was baptized this past weekend, on November 3. It was such a special, beautiful day, and we're so grateful for all the family and friends who could join us to be part of this memorable occasion. Here are some cute pictures of her that we took a few days before her baptism.

Natalie has such a sweet, fun personality. She is optimistic and cheerful, and loves to try new things. She's kind and thoughtful and likes to be helpful to others. She feels things deeply and has a big heart.

In school, her teacher says Natalie is very focused on being successful and learning. She is a natural leader with her peers and is a rule follower. She likes to do what's right and helps others to, as well.

At her baptism, there were 12 other children being baptized. So, we had a bit of time to wait until it was Natalie's turn. When she finally got to be baptized, Natalie was so excited. After she came out of the water, and was getting ready to change, she said she felt so happy she was almost crying. She really felt a sweet, joyful spirit right then. Both her grandmas shared thoughts about their own baptisms, and about how the Holy Ghost can be a real gift and blessing to us as we follow its guidance. After Natalie received the gift of the Holy Ghost, she and Samantha and Spencer sang, "I'm trying to be like Jesus."

Lots of Natalie's cousins got to come be with her, and we had a big lunch at our house afterward. Natalie asked if we could have nachos, so we put together a nacho bar and also a baked potato bar, with lots of toppings for both. We had ice cream cake (Natalie's request) for dessert, as well as some fun peanut butter bar cookies.

We sure love Natalie, and are so happy for her. I personally felt such a beautiful, sweet spirit throughout her baptism day. As a mom, that's a really special gift for me; I had lots going on, making sure all the logistics for the day got taken care of. Despite the busyness of everything, I had moments to reflect on my own baptism and the beautiful gift it is in my life. I am truly grateful for the Savior Jesus Christ. I treasure His teachings and want to live by His example. I can see how His gospel has blessed me and my family as we continue to serve Him and love others in His way. We are so blessed to have our Natalie girl in our family, and are grateful to see her making good choices that will bring her happiness as she stays on this covenant path, following Jesus throughout her life to come!
