Well, I am quite sure I know what part of my own personal Endless Torment would be, if I'm one of those unlucky ones who just doesn't "make it." ....
I'd be placed on a big, soft comfortable bed with the perfect pillow and the perfect amount of blankets and the lights dimmed just so, and maybe even a "just in case" glass of water on a little table beside the bed. Then, I'd be told that I could sleep whenever I wanted to. Oh boy!!!
Only,
every time I'd close my eyes and just barely start to drift off to that heavenly dreamland of sleep...
SOMEONE WOULD...
WAKE
ME
UP.
And that, my friends, would be Endless Torment. To me, anyway.
Sigh.
I know, because it happens to me alllllll the time around here. I long for just one sleep where I get to wake up all on my own. Just once. It seems soooo very long ago that I had that privilege. Here are pictures of my sweet little "tormentors."
I know, she looks all innocent and sweet, right??
Who? Me??
They look like they're just sweetly posing for a sibling picture, right?

But what if they're secretly plotting??
But what if they're secretly plotting??
Conspiring. See, doesn't it just look like Samantha is whispering to Natalie, "You take the 5- 6:30 a.m. shift. Spencer's got 2-3 a.m. covered, and I'll make sure I'm up for the day by 7." Can't you see it??

And they do usually get what they want, of course.
Even this one gets in on the "tormenting" action, often taking the "lets talk while I'm taking a 12:30 a.m. work break" ...
And naps are usually scarce these days, between this...
And this...
There's really no need for this...
All of this is in jest, really. Except for the part about me missing my sleep. I guess it just comes with the Mom territory, huh? And I'm happy to take it. In fact, I'm quite sure my Endless Torment is not as bad as Brian's current Endless Torment... he just never gets to sleep. Period. But that's a story for another time.
Bye for now, just thought I'd share some cute pics of the kids and a "secret wish" of mine... Sleep. Sleep. Sleep.

My dear, dear TIRED girl--This too will PASS!!
Just think--When they're teenagers and off to school, you'll be able to take luxurious naps in the middle of the day--(that is, if your HUSBAND'S not around....) But they'll keep running you ragged at NIGHT!
And Someday--when you get to MY stage of life--you'll have LOTS of un-interrupted sleep time and then if you're like me--Sleep won't COME!! You'll just lay there and think about all those hours you were raising those little darlings, and all kinds of thoughts will keep you awake as you think back on those past years, and all the things you SHOULD'VE done!! (That's not very encouraging, IS IT!!) :(
Actually--it was a cute write-up and it was wonderful to see those little "angels"--and I hope you'll be able to get some sleep pretty soon!
(Oh, and isn't that LAST picture of that darling little Natalie PRECIOUS?? It makes me just want to grab her up and hug her to me! She is SO adorable and loveable when she smiles at us like that!)
Lots of Love to you, my Kamber girl.....from Your Mom (I'm sure gonna miss you.....)
It has been a loong time since I have seen your kids. I can't wait to see them soon. They are adorable, especially the littlest trouble maker, the babies always seems to be the cutest kids though. Good luck tonight!!!
Oh Kamber. I have the same wish. I have often dreamed of checking into a hotel for 24 hours by myself to just sleep as much as I want. Wouldn't that be heavenly? Do you want to join me? I don't think I've used an alarm clock in exactly 5 years because there is always someone to wake me up. But guess what, I was exactly where you are last year and now I'm not quite so desperate. As soon as everyone is on a normal sleeping schedule for cutting out naps (Spencer) and figuring out consistent naps/sleep (Natalie) you will be feeling good again. I took a 2 hour nap today and now I can't go to sleep!!! Hooray!
This write up was hilarious and the pictures of the kids are so very cute. Natalie is honestly a BEAUTIFUL baby. I love that sweet little face.
Oh, I have the same dream! But I had to laugh all the way through this. Because it is so true, AND your kids are so darn cute! Natalie is getting so big. What a sweetie.
I HEAR YA!!!! I laughed all the way through this post because I feel the SAME way. Except I only have two "little tormentors" for now :) Good luck in the sleep department! at least we know they will grow up someday and we'll wish we had them back as our sweet little babies.
wait till theres five.
that was a clever right up. loved the pic placement, and choice of pics.
Kamber! I found your blog link through my comment section on my blog. YEA!
So your post was hilarious! I can totally relate! I can't believe our children can all somehow be up at different times of the night. Honestly, how can they not be secretly planning it!
Well I am soooo sad you guys are leaving but am excited to keep in touch through your blog. Check in on mine every once in a while too!
Fun post Kam! I believe all of us moms can relate. In about 10 years you'll be thinking....What happened to my little ones?
